By Peter Fabris December 28, 2012

Active House, a unique 2,500-sf home under construction in St. Louis, is designed to meet or exceed four green certification programs. The house features balanced and efficient energy consumption, healthy indoor air, and durable, local, and recycled materials. St. Louis was chosen as the home's site because of its mixed climate zone, with both heat and humidity in the summer and frosty conditions in the winter. The home will be a prototype to help develop Active House guidelines for North American climate and environmental needs.
