Wired predicts that voice-enabled digital assistants will soon be everywhere, from cars and refrigerators to DVRs and speakers. There are many iterations of these products, from Google’s Assistant and Apple’s Siri to Microsoft’s Cortana and Samsung’s Viv. But Amazon’s Alexa is poised to lead the pack in a market estimated to reach $3.6 billion by 2020. Many Alexa-enabled devices were on display at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show, including an LG fridge that works with Alexa to play music, set timers, and tell you how many tablespoons are in a cup.
