Arthur Rutenberg Homes adds new companies in Carolinas

Arthur Rutenberg Homes, the nation’s largest franchise network of custom home builders, has announced major expansions in a region it tapped two-and-a-half years ago.

By HZ Staff October 29, 2012

Arthur Rutenberg Homes, the nation’s largest franchise network of custom home builders, has announced major expansions in the Carolinas region — two additional new franchise home building companies in the Mooresville and Cornelius areas plus a new franchise in the Raleigh/Durham area.

New franchise Bluefield Builder, LLC, based in Mooresville/Iredell County, will build custom homes, ranging from $400,000 to $1 million-plus, primarily in Iredell County and the Lake Norman area. Bluefield’s current communities include The Point and The Farms in Mooresville and Falls Cove in Troutman.  Bluefield Builders is co-owned by Tom Arndt and Dave Smith, who also serves as building company president.

New franchise Monterey Bay-Charlotte, LLC, based in Cornelius/Mecklenburg County, will build custom houses, ranging from $350,000 to $1 million-plus, primarily in North Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Rowan and Iredell counties. David Schenck and Jim Wolfe co-own Monterey Bay-Charlotte. The company is an expansion for Schenck and Wolfe, who founded and operate Monterey Bay Homes, LLC, an Arthur Rutenberg Homes franchise in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

A third new Arthur Rutenberg Homes franchise has been awarded in the Raleigh area to Monterey Bay-Raleigh, also owned by David Schenck.  This is the second franchise in the Raleigh/Durham area. Monterey Bay-Raleigh will be building in Wake and Durham counties with home prices ranging from $400,000 to $1 million-plus.

The first Arthur Rutenberg Homes franchise in the Raleigh area was awarded 18 months ago to Hearthstone Luxury Homes, LLC, who is currently building homes in the counties of Wake, Orange, Chatham and Durham for $400,000 and up.

Arthur Rutenberg Homes, based in Clearwater, Fla., and founded by legendary home builder Art Rutenberg, expanded to the Greater Charlotte area market two-and-a-half years ago.
