James Hardie Hardiplank Siding

www.jameshardie.com

James Hardie siding is a low maintenance product that, unlike vinyl, doesn't sacrifice the beauty and character of wood. Available pre-finished with a 15-year paint warranty, James Hardie fiber-cement siding resists rotting or cracking as well as damage from rain, hail and flying debris. Best of all, James Hardie siding is noncombustible and comes with a limited, transferable warranty for up to 50 years.

In My Own Words

"James Hardie board siding is a relatively new product in this area. It has a different, retro look and a level of quality that takes you back to the old siding days. That look works well in the Daybreak homes we are doing. In fact, Hardie board siding was one of the requirements for those homes, and it fits them perfectly.

"In a market that consists largely of stucco and vinyl siding, Hardie siding products allow us a more traditional-looking style of home, as well as the ability to paint the exterior any number of colors. So far we haven't had problems with it. It stands up well in our climate, which varies from snow and rain to upwards of 100- to 105-degree heat."

Carrier HVAC Systems

www.carrier.com

The Carrier 38CKC Energy-Efficient Air Conditioner incorporates innovative technology to provide reliable cooling performance. These units include SEER ratings of up to 11.5 when used with specified Carrier equipment. The unit features a wide range of sizes and a compact, low-profile appearance.

Carrier furnaces heat safely within the home. The 58STA 80 percent Gas Furnace features Carrier's QuieTech noise reduction system for quiet induced draft operation. Applications are easy with four-way, multipoise design, through-the-furnace down-flow venting, 13 different venting options and a door designed for easy service access.

In My Own Words

"Our standard furnace is Carrier Model 58-STA-090-14 or 58-STA-111-20. The air conditioning units are the Carrier 38CKC030 or the 38CKC042. It is important to align our company with manufacturers who stand behind their products and offer good quality. Carrier makes a good quality product; its product is simply better. The company also stands behind its name. Equally as important, consumers are very positive about the brand, because Carrier does a pretty good job marketing itself."

DuPont Corian Solid Surfaces

www.corian.com

Many people know Corian as a trusted brand of countertops, but today's Corian is that and much more, including accessories and windowsills. Each Corian product is custom-designed specifically to meet to fit the homeowner's lifestyle and needs. Circle No. 128

In My Own Words

"DuPont Corian is another good product with good name-recognition. We offer it as an upgrade in all of our communities. It is more cost-effective than granite, and because it is nonporous, it is easier to use and requires less maintenance. In fact, it is maintenance-free — practically carefree. You can spill punch on it, and it won't stain. Corian is definitely a positive for homebuyers."

Moen Kitchen Faucets

www.moen.com

Moen's Monticello kitchen faucet line comes in a variety of styles, including the one shown here that fits on any three-hole sink. The Monticello has a 10-inch spout and a one-piece washerless cartridge. Its convenience in the kitchen is unmatched thanks to its elegant lever handle that provides smooth, precise control. Moen offers a variety of other Monticello designs, including a complete line of bathroom faucets.

In My Own Words

"Moen delivers good quality and good design with plenty of finish choices. Plus, the company stands behind its work and offers a good warranty. It is just an all-around good product.

"Moen not only has a good reputation for quality, but the company also stays on the cutting edge of new technology and styles. Right now, we offer about four or five different Moen models, and our biggest seller is the Monticello. Our consumers like the design and color choices Moen offers."

GE Kitchen Appliances

www.ge.com

New GE Profile freestanding electric ranges offer added capacity and versatility, giving home cooks more control over mealtime. Warm dinner rolls while a roast browns. Bake pies while a soufflé rises. The large 5.3-cubic-foot upper oven and the new 1.2 cubic-foot-capacity lower oven, which can warm or bake foods at temperatures up to 450 degrees, combine to give the consumer more ways than ever to prepare multi-course meals.

In My Own Words

"GE is a quality company: good product, up-to-date technology and energy-efficient appliances. We offer the Profile line as an upgrade, since our customers are first-time buyers, and many of them take this option. They like its good, clean styling. The most popular color is white-on-white. Stainless is the most popular upgradeable color, which our buyers can get on the first upgrade level."
