Dow Corning 778 Silicone Liquid Flashing

June 24, 2015
Dow Corning 778 Silicone Liquid Flashing being applied to a window opening.
This article first appeared in the PB June 2015 issue of Pro Builder.
Created to provide a weatherproof, flexible, seamless, and vapor-permeable seal for windows, doors, and other through-wall transitions, Dow Corning’s 778 Silicone Liquid Flashing can either be used as part of the Silicone Air Barrier System or as a stand-alone solution with other building materials. The flashing helps ease the installation challenges associated with embedded mesh and folding of sheet flashings, and the primerless formulation simplifies installation and saves time. Dow Corning has brought out a number of other 100 percent silicone products to complement its air barrier system, including the Silicone Transition System, 758 Silicone Weather Barrier Sealant, and the 791 Silicone Weatherproofing Sealant.
