Analysis from the Urban Institute reveals that the percentage of Hispanics involved in the mortgage market dropped from 24 percent in 2012 to 22 percent in 2013, while decreasing just slightly for African Americans and increasing for whites and Asians. Tighter lending standards and higher unemployment among Hispanics are largely to blame for the downturn.
