All buyers want to live comfortably, whether they're feeling cramped in a current home or are looking for more space in their investment.
Home buyers increasingly willing to pay more for sustainable features
Green building market is expected to grow tens of billions of dollars by 2016
Home buyers are increasingly inclined to pay more for energy-efficient features, and construction of sustainable homes has been increasing among homebuilders, according to a Green Home Builders and Remodelers study. Some 68 percent of builders say clients will pay extra for energy-efficient houses, up from 61 percent in 2011, the study found. Demand for green building in residential construction is expected to grow as consumers become educated, with the market increasing by tens of billions of dollars between 2013 and 2016, the study predicted.
