This article first appeared in the PB December 2015 issue of Pro Builder.

The 2016 Toyota Tacoma has a new 3.5-liter V-6 powertrain, along with enhanced suspension tuning and off-road technology. The truck’s Atkinson Cycle engine produces 278 horsepower, which is 42 hp more than the previous edition of the truck. Tacoma’s TRD Off-Road grade has a Crawl Control mode, which takes over the acceleration and braking when driving off-road. The truck has LED Daytime Running Lights, a 4.2-inch color digital display on the drivers’ dashboard, and a GoPro mount on the windshield. The six-speed automatic transmission makes shifting smoother, and the truck can haul up to 6,800 pounds and has a payload of up to 1,440 pounds. The bed has a 120-volt outlet and a Sheet-Molded Composite surface.
