Pulte Corporation, the nation’s largest homebuilder, announced that it will add virtual tours to showcase their model homes on their website. Model homes in Pulte’s Texas market will be the first to be photographed using Interactive Pictures Corporation’s (IPIX) virtual tours. Virtual tours of Pulte homes in additional markets will photographed in the coming months.
Pulte Corp. is the latest builder to utilize IPIX virtual tour technology to capitalize on the growing number of homebuyers who prefer to use the internet to research prospective homes before actually driving to the actual communities.
"The technology is ideal for homebuyers to go on virtual tours of models and communities in their local market or throughout the country," said Jim Zeumer, vice president of investor and corporate communications of Pulte Corp. "Homebuyers and realtors can easily pre-screen homes and make their search process more efficient."
The homes and communities will be photographed using the IPIX digital camera kit to capture 360-degree by 360-degree views in minute increments. IPIX virtual tours provide a complete view, from skylights to floors to the texture of the four surrounding walls.
The IPIX virtual tours will complement the more than 6500 floor plan and elevation graphics currently on Pulte Corp.’s website. Homebuyers are able to quickly obtain detailed information on the more than 420 communities Pulte is building throughout the country.
Pulte Home Corporation has domestic operations in 27 states and 41 markets, with international operations in Puerto Rico and Mexico. Over its history, the company has constructed more than 220,000 homes. Pulte Mortgage Corporation, their national mortgage company, operates in substantially the same markets.
