To celebrate the Lone Star State’s Independence 179 years ago, Texas-based HousingWire shares some numbers that justify the state’s economic pride.
For one, the median household income of Texas homebuyers has increased 5.9 percent year-over-year to $97,000, HousingWire says, using data from the 2015 Texas Homebuyers and Sellers Report.
Moreover, 28 percent of Texas homes purchased between July 2013 and June 2014 were new homes, which is nearly double the that of new-home sales among U.S. home sales nationwide during the same period.
