Amherst is latest Massachusetts town to adopt stricter energy efficiency code

All new residential construction and some commercial buildings have to be 20 percent more energy efficient than the existing state code under the new rules adopted by Amherst, Mass.

All new residential construction and some commercial buildings have to be 20 percent more energy efficient than the existing state code under the new rules adopted by Amherst, Mass. Builders in that community will have to work with independent Home Energy Rating System raters during the construction process.
