People who work full-time jobs to take care of their families don’t need a ton of glitz and glamour with where they live. They need safety and affordability.

SmartAsset found the best cities for working parents, based on factors including household income, childcare and housing costs, unemployment rates, and crime rates.

Orem, a city of 91,000 in Utah, ranked first for the second consecutive year. The city has a low violent crime rate and an impressive high school graduation rate. Plus, the economy is booming, and unemployment only sits at 2.5 percent.

Other cities in the top 10 include Ames, Iowa, Irvine, Calif., Oshkosh, Wis., and College Station, Texas.
