Students and faculty at the Savannah College of Art and Design have designed and constructed a 135-sf eco-friendly micro house that fits into a single parking space within a parking garage. The SCADPad is a 16- x 8-foot dwelling designed for a single occupant fitted with a bed, kitchenette, and bathroom. The creators say it could be a model for affordable housing units in urban areas with unused parking structures.
