With the technology of televisions, phones, lighting, and even doorbells evolving and advancing at an exponential rate, every room in today's home is looking more and more like something out of a science fiction movie. That is, until you walk into the kitchen. There, the large, bulky appliances can seem downright archaic when compared with what one finds in the bedroom or family room.

But the dream of the smart kitchen isn’t dead. According to CNET, third-party partnerships, better value, and new designs that make being in the kitchen fun are all things that can take the humble kitchen and put it on par with the rest of the house. Cue the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
