Minnesota is using grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to encourage homeowners to install fire-resistant roofs.
The grants are for residences and commercial buildings in areas at high risk for wildfires.
Eligible property owners may be reimbursed for up to 70% of the materials and installation of the roof. Each grant is limited to $7,500 per structure.
