Titletown is a mixed-use development project including a hotel, brewpub, and now more than 200 housing units, located across the street from Lambeau Field, and owned by the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers want to bring in Millennial renters and homebuyers, as 150 units are for rent and 90 are for sale, in an effort to boost Green Bay's local economy. The team CEO Mark Murphy says, “We want to make sure Green Bay can have a strong enough economy to have an NFL team.” Overall investment in the project is anticipated to top $300 million, with $70 million allocated for residential projects, HousingWire reports.
“If we can do things to make Green Bay more attractive, not just to visitors, but make more people want to come and work in Green Bay, we’d consider that a success,” Murphy added. The initiative has a lot of potential. Despite operating in the smallest city in U.S. professional sports, the Green Bay Packers regularly rank in the top 10 in local revenue generated. Giving “Cheeseheads” more opportunities to spend money around Lambeau could be an incredibly lucrative play.
