Energy efficiency upgrades add value to homes, so homeowners who upgrade should take steps to make those projects—and their results—plain to buyers. Energy disclosures are now common practice in some cities. Home sellers should provide their real estate agent with the home’s utility bills and/or energy rating. They can also provide a list of any energy upgrades undertaken and include them in multiple listing service entries.
