An at-home solar energy interface program wins innovation award

Imagine if homeowners have the power to research and assess the costs and benefits of installing a solar roof. Well with Mapdwell’s Solar System program, they do.
 
The program layers information about tax credits and carbon emissions savings to help users visualize the costs and benefits of having solar panels, all mapped onto a stunning, interactive topographical map of roofs that helps determine the most efficient spot for panels. It won the Best Data Visualization category of Fast Company’s annual Innovation By Design Awards. Other winners include Nike’s Magista soccer cleat for best product and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Mymagic+ for best experience.
