Interest rates need to rise sooner, Fed president says

President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Richard Fisher said in an interview that with mounting signs of financial market excess and continued economic growth, the U.S. central bank needs to raise interest rates by early next year, a Wall Street Journal blog reports.
