Negative Equity Projected to Fall Further in 2015

According to Zillow Real Estate Research, the national negative equity rate continued to decline in the third quarter of 2014, falling to 16.9 percent.

The current negative equity rate is down almost half from its 31.4 peak in the first quarter of 2012 after falling for ten consecutive quarters. Zillow estimates that negative equity will fall further, reaching 15.2 percent in the third quarter of 2015.
