A Texas firm has carved out a green building niche by using prefab methods and salvaged building materials from old buildings. “We save a thousand or two cubic yards of landfill waste by deconstructing the structures,” the owner says. “If they don’t go to a landfill, they’ll either get burned on site or they’ll get pushed into a hole.”
