The Washington Post named the top home design trends for 2017, as determined by Houzz.

Homeowners enjoy pendant lights in their bedrooms, backsplashes that extend to the ceiling, and vanities made from chests of drawers and vintage cabinets.

The days of doing laundry in a dank basement are over, at least for homeowners who can afford to spruce up their space. Homeowners are adding light to their laundry rooms as well as more storage and functional space.
