After constituents pushed back on a bill that would lower the prices that utilities pay to small generators of electricity for their surplus energy, lawmakers in the Indiana State Senate crafted a compromise bill. The measure would grant the higher retail rate for another 30 years for those who have already installed solar. It would also allow those who install it over the next five years to get the higher retail rate until 2032. Those who install the technology after 2022 would get a smaller incentive.
