A.O. Smith has added a duct kit accessory to its line of Voltex Hybrid Electric Heat Pump water heaters. Voltex heats water with ambient heat captured from the surrounding air. Previously, the manufacturer recommended installation in spaces with at least 700 cubic feet, but the duct kit accessory allows contractors to pipe air in and exhaust air out of adjacent rooms. The kit is compatible with all Voltex models, including 50-, 66-, and 80-gallon units. The Voltex models operate at a quiet 51 decibels, and units have a vacation mode that’s programmable up to 99 days.
