Part of Masonite’s West End Collection, this interior door complements the collection’s contemporary style. Doors are offered in 80- and 84-inch variations, along with matching bi-fold doors. All variations feature a primed hardboard finish that can be painted to fit any color scheme. Masonite also offers an eco-friendly Safe ‘N Sound Emerald door option, with a core made of rapidly renewable wheat straw.
Kolbe VistaLuxe Collection
This window product line from Kolbe was designed in collaboration with architects to emphasize clean, modern design. Available in a smoothly aligned Flush style or setback Accent style, all VistaLuxe windows sport narrow frames to optimize daylighting and maximize viewing areas. Models include casements, awnings, direct set windows, inswing and outswing doors, and matching transoms.
Hy-Lite Privacy Windows
These acrylic block windows from Hy-Lite offer all of the privacy of traditional glass block windows with the functionality of an operable window. The collection includes casement, awning, single-hung, and slider models. Hy-Lite also offers triple-paned, decorative glass privacy casements and awning windows that come pre-framed in energy-efficient all-vinyl frames. For further energy-efficiency benefits, the Sunblock Plus model is also available, which helps regulate temperature in the home.
Andersen Smart Locks for Windows
Equipped with Honeywell’s Verilock sensor technology in the frame, this series of windows from Andersen will alert homeowners if they are opened or closed, locked, or unlocked. The windows are also programmed to automatically close when it rains. Andersen offers smart window technology on its Eagle Axiom casement and awning windows, Talon double-hung windows, and Ascent hinged French patio doors and sliding patio doors.
Milgard Moving Glass Wall Systems
Twelve standard sizes are available for this moving glass wall system from Milgard that brings high-end luxury to the average homeowner. Available in three- and four-panel configurations, panels are easier to open than similar systems thanks to tandem stainless steel ball-bearing rollers. All models feature a fully weather-stripped structural interlock system and Milgard SunCoatMax specialty glass coating for improved energy efficiency. A variety of aluminum colors are available with the option of clear vertical grain Douglas fir or pine interiors.
Marvin Automated Exterior Shades
These programmable shades from Marvin are fully integrated into the window frame, maintaining the exterior aesthetic and full views from the inside. Western Window Systems Series 9500 Bi-Fold Door
Western Window Systems added this popular door style to its Volume Program in 2014, making it widely available for large home builders. All Series 9500 doors are made of thermally broken, recycled aluminum and dual-pane glass. Narrow door stiles allow for more glass space and therefore better views to the exterior. The locking system is integrated directly into the door stile, further enhancing the clean, contemporary look. A variety of high-quality finishes are available.
Simonton Reflections 5500 Vinyl Windows
The Reflections 5500 series of vinyl windows from Simonton comes standard with ProSolar low-E glass and argon gas fill. High-performance options include a triple-pane insulating glass unit and ProSolar Shade low-E glass. The windows can also be customized with Simonton’s Decorum features, which incorporate exterior colors like Brick, Bronze, Chocolate, Cream, Driftwood, Pine, and Tan, as well as interior wood grains such as Antique Cherry, Contemporary Oak, and Maple. Marvin Ultimate Casement Window
Marvin’s Passive House Institute U.S. (PHIUS)-certified window is available with tripane glass in a 13/8-inch profile, or quad glazing with Heat Mirror technology in a 1-inch profile. This product line from Pella Windows and Doors includes energy-efficient options that meet or exceed Energy Star guidelines in all 50 states. Advanced low-E insulating double-pane glass comes standard in the 250 series—a natural choice, especially for climates with hot and cold weather extremes. These versatile vinyl windows are available in popular single-hung, double-hung, and sliding styles; and as an option, argon can be inserted into the space between glass panes to enhance energy efficiency.
Therma-Tru Fiber-Classic Mahogany Collection
Therma-Tru has expanded this growing product line with on-trend door styles to satisfy today’s homeowners. Jeld-Wen Architectural Fiberglass Door
For all of its fiberglass doors, Jeld-Wen now incorporates Neopor, an exclusive technology from BASF that has advantages over the industry-standard urethane core. Neopor is graphite-infused polystyrene that delivers increased energy efficiency thanks to a high-purity graphite that reflects and absorbs radiant energy. The Architectural Fiberglass door—made from a mold taken from a real wood door—features an authentic wood-grain pattern and comes in a variety of wood species and designs.
Integrity All Ultrex Round Tops
Integrity from Marvin Windows and Doors now offers a wider range of shapes and sizes in its All Ultrex line, including True-Half Above Springline, Eyebrow Above Springline, and Special Size Round Tops. The recent additions feature proprietary glass reinforced composite material that provides complementary performance to Ultrex—particularly Integrity’s patented finish technology—while allowing for radius bends. Integrity also is enhancing the new Round Top offerings with a variety of new grilles-between-the-glass light cuts, including starburst and rectangular configurations.
Plastpro Modern Door Series
This modern door collection from Plastpro Inc. combines contemporary composition with quality construction to offer building professionals and homeowners stylish new options for fiberglass doors. The doors feature flush-glazed profiles to create a true modern look with no unsightly screw holes. Sealed on all six sides with composite material, the doors also have a HydroShield Technology moisture barrier and are energy efficient.
LaCantina Multi-Slide Doors
These doors from LaCantina Doors feature the signature narrow stile and rail profiles used in the company’s folding doors. High-quality, custom-engineered hardware and AAMA-certified wheels allow for a uniform, symmetrical low profile bottom rail. PPG Solarban 60 Low-E Glass
Solarban 60 glass from PPG Industries has a proven ability to deliver value and performance by allowing more daylight in, making living spaces more inviting and energy efficient. The advanced low-E coating of Solarban 60 glass transmits more than 70 percent of the sun’s available light into a home while blocking 79 percent of the sun’s damaging UV energy and other contributors to fading—in all, 24 percent better than standard clear insulating glass. This helps to protect interior furnishings, fabrics, and carpets.

LP SmartSide Prefinished Siding
LP Building Products has reinforced the availability of prefinished LP SmartSide siding in a new standard color palette as well as unique regional custom colors. To support this initiative, LP announced the new LP Preferred Prefinisher Network. The companies in this network offer a minimum palette of 12 standard colors and a minimum 15-year finish warranty with a labor component covering the first five years. Additional premium colors and finishes may be offered in various markets.
PFT LineBacker Siding Insulation
Progressive Foam Technologies has launched LineBacker Siding Insulation, the energy-saving thermal break that improves the appearance of siding in two ways—by leveling the wall under the siding, and by providing parallel guides or ledges for each plank to stop up against for nailing. LineBacker can be paired with any plank-style siding such as fiber cement and composite wood. This new siding insulation combats thermal bridging by keeping heat where it belongs and making the existing cavity insulation more effective.
Behr Marquee Exterior Paint and Primer
Marquee Exterior is a stain-blocking paint and primer that features Behr’s most advanced dirt and fade protection technology. It creates a tough, non-stick surface that resists dirt, along with advanced fade protection for longer-lasting color. Sherwin-Williams Cashmere Paint with Pearl Finish
Sherwin-Williams Cashmere Interior Latex Paint takes on added luster with the introduction of a pearl finish. Delta Faucet unveils its latest bathroom innovation with Temp2O Technology, a digital temperature display featuring LED color indicators to signal different water temperature ranges for easy, visual indication. Handshowers, showerheads, and tub showers with Temp2O Technology indicate temperatures below 80°F in blue; 80°F to approximately 110°F in magenta; and temperatures greater than 110°F in red. All bath solutions with this technology flow at a rate of 2.0 rpm and are WaterSense labeled, providing 20-to-40 percent water savings.
Gaggenau Vario 400 Series Modular Refrigeration
Professional chefs know there are great differences in how food needs to be stored. This Gaggenau refrigeration series is the first modular system made from fully integrated built-in appliances and includes refrigerators, freezers, fridge-freezer combinations, and wine storage units. The interiors of all appliances are fully lined in stainless steel and door bins are made from solid aluminum. The entire interior area is generous and brightly lit thanks to LED lighting pillars harmoniously integrated on the sidewall.

CalStar Engineer Brick
CalStar has developed a patent-pending formula and manufacturing process to make a better and more sustainable brick. With no firing and no Portland cement, CalStar’s process consumes 81-percent less energy and releases 84-percent less carbon dioxide. The company also uses 37-percent post-industrial recycled material in its Engineer brick that would otherwise wind up in a landfill. CertainTeed Sustainable Insulation
CertainTeed has issued its first Environmental Product Declaration for Sustainable Insulation, which consists of 35-percent recycled glass in addition to a plant-based binder and sand, its main raw material. A closed-loop water system helps maximize water usage at the plant, and rigorous monitoring and management of energy usage has reduced the amount of energy needed to manufacture this GreenGuard-certified product. Sustainable Insulation is available in a variety of R-values ranging from R-11 to R-38 and is designed for use in standard wood-stud and steel-frame wall and ceiling assemblies.
Fomo Handi-Flow Channel Fill
Handi-Flow Channel Fill, a product featuring Fomo’s High Flow Technology, has the ability to completely fill voids and cavities of all shapes and sizes with minimal fill points. Channel Fill offers one of the highest aged R-values in polyurethane foam, reaching an R-7.2 per-inch aged rating. This product will not settle, shrink, or expand over time like some other insulation materials, ensuring a long-lasting air seal. Channel Fill is available in both disposable and refillable sizes.
Kleer PVC Trim Adhesives and Sealants
Kleer Lumber offers a full line of sealant and adhesive products for use with its cellular PVC trim pieces. DuPont Tyvek ThermaWrap R5.0 delivers the benefits of a weather barrier along with an insulation value of R-5 in a single product that can be installed using familiar techniques similar to those for Tyvek HomeWrap. ThermaWrap helps keep air and bulk water out of walls but is breathable and allows moisture vapor to escape the wall assembly. This product is available through DuPont Tyvek distributors and dealers east of the Mississippi and will be available across the remainder of the U.S. and Canada by the end of 2014.
Owens Corning ProPink EcoTouch R20
Energy codes continue to strengthen, and now all but two climate zones require R-20 insulation in 2-by-6 wall cavities. To help builders achieve this new performance standard, Owens Corning has added an R-20 offering to its ProPink EcoTouch insulation portfolio. ProPink EcoTouch R20 features a formaldehyde-free formulation made of 99-percent recycled materials and is easy to handle and quick to install. Offered unfaced or with kraft facing, this product also displays excellent stiffness and recovery characteristics and can be cut easily for odd-shaped cavities.
StoGuard Applied Weather Barrier
Sto Corp. has launched its energy-efficient StoGuard fluid applied weather barrier to the residential market. It can be sprayed on or applied with a roller and requires no special training, reducing the risk of improper installation. No additional breathing apparatus or special handling is necessary. StoGuard does not require the use of staples, nails, or other means of attachment to adhere to the wall. In addition, it is bonded to the sheathing, does not require mechanical fastening, and will not tear, rip, or blow off during construction.
Johns Manville Foil-Faced Foam Sheathing
This rigid insulation from Johns Manville boasts an R-value of 6.5 at 1 inch, ranging up to a total R-value of 22.8. Two foil facers sit around a uniform, closed-cell, polyisocyanurate foam core that provides protection against thermal bridging and water, vapor, and air infiltration. Insulation pieces are non-corrosive and lightweight; installers can cut them with a utility knife or saw.
Huber ZIP System Radiant Barrier
Huber Engineered Woods has added its ZIP System sheathing to radiant barrier roof panels for superior strength, stiffness, moisture resistance, and heat protection. The panels block as much as 97 percent of radiant heat transfer, which can lower attic temperatures by as much as 30 degrees. Installation is quick and easy, with an instant 180-day rough dry-in. Sizes include 1/2-inch, 5/8-inch, and 7/16-inch thicknesses.
DAP SmartBond Adhesives
This range of polyurethane construction adhesive foaming gel products from DAP provides eight times the coverage of standard cartridge adhesives across a wide array of applications and construction materials. DAP also boasts 25-percent faster application thanks to the aerosol distribution. Products in the line include a subfloor adhesive, subfloor gun-grade adhesive, heavy duty adhesive, landscape adhesive, and an adhesive cleaner.

MaxLite also offers the LED Lamp in 2700K color temperature and in a GU24 base in 2700K, 3000K, and 4100K color temperatures. The LED Omni lamp replicates an incandescent bulb’s 300-degree beam angle, delivers consistent light from the socket base and above in all directions, and is dimmable down to 10 percent on a wide variety of control systems.
Noritz NRC661 Condensing Tankless Water Heater
NRC661 features the same energy-saving technology as the rest of the Noritz EcoTough series of condensing tankless water heaters, and has an energy factor of 0.91 for natural gas and 0.93 for LP. The Energy Star-rated NRC661 can deliver 6.6 gallons per minute, with a maximum input of 120,000 BTU per hour, using a 1/2-inch gas line up to 120 feet in length. NRC661 also is the first Noritz unit to offer a front digital display to permit basic servicing without a remote device.

The Rinnai Hybrid Tank-Tankless Water Heater combines the on-demand technology of a tankless water heater with a durable 40-gallon storage tank. When used together, they offer homeowners more than twice the water-heating capacity of a traditional 50-gallon tank. The Hybrid Water Heater installs like a tank, requires a ½-inch gas line, and is compatible with a 4-inch B-vent or common vent with furnace. The unit’s hot- and cold-water connections are the same as a traditional storage tank.

The 2014 version of this touch-screen thermostat from Warmup—designed via a national contest—connects to the company’s radiant floor heating and allows users to view actual graphs of a home’s recorded energy consumption. Honeywell Lyric Thermostat
The Lyric thermostat from Honeywell features “geofencing,” which uses the location of the user’s smartphone to automatically turn the device into energy-saving mode when the home is empty. It can also sense when owners are coming home and heat or cool the house to their preferred temperature.
