Life of the Pro: The Home Depot's dedication to Pro customers

November 10, 2014

Day in and day out, you’re faced with challenges – finding skilled labor, differentiating yourself from competitors and navigating ever-changing regulations. With so many pressing business details to focus on, it’s more important than ever to find and maximize efficiencies to maintain profitability. All trade professionals and contractors need to position their businesses for long-term success while still achieving profitable growth in the short term. Specialized budget and time-saving programs can change the dynamics of your business and give you the competitive advantages you need.

Look for products and programs designed by retailers to help you do business more efficiently. At The Home Depot, we’ve converted feedback from a wide variety of Pros in all different disciplines into a customized shopping experience – from dedicated shopping assistants and loaders to a designated checkout. Compare the offerings of retailers like The Home Depot with your list of potential opportunities for improvement before selecting your partner.

Even outside their stores, some retailers have rolled out entire programs not only to provide access to exclusive savings but to provide valuable business tools.

Finding the right program, however, can feel like a task in and of itself. Look for one that makes your everyday tasks easier and faster – ideally touching all elements of your business.

The Home Depot programs, for example, are structured to help Pros save time and money with exclusive assistance to help get jobs done more efficiently. These programs include in-store, jobsite management and overall project organization offerings:

  • Keep your business organized: Don’t lose time tracking purchases. Manage your business anywhere with Pro Xtra, Home Depot’s member-only platform for Pros. This member-only platform makes it easier for Pros to increase efficiency and decrease costs all at their fingertips. For example, you can manage business receipts dating back two years.
  • Save time while juggling jobs: Not only can you remotely check product inventory at your local store, Text2Confirm allows you to text to authorize a transaction made by a business partner at any Home Depot register – making the checkout process seamless. It’s as easy as registering a phone number and credit card through your Pro Xtra account.
  • Make every supply run count: Get the competitive edge to win more jobs and build your business with exclusive in-store savings, including bulk and volume pricing, dedicated parking and specially trained associates.

This month, The Home Depot is hosting a Pro Appreciation Event on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all U.S. stores. Pros are invited to take advantage of exclusive savings and learn more about Pro Xtra. Also, the event will include insider access to special holiday deals on products from top tool brands, such as DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, RIDGID and Porter-Cable.

Visit the Pro Desk at your Home Depot store or www.homedepot.com/pro for more information.
