Many economists say that housing is making a comeback. But how exactly? A series of charts created by Quartz show how.

First, a chart shows that housing starts are coming back to life after much of the nation went through a harsh winter. Moreover, these houses being built are getting sold: Americans bought homes at a 5.4 million-unit annual pace in May, which is the most since 2009.

First-time buyers are also making a comeback, while the number of all-cash buyers is waning.
