Home and commercial builders are wary of the city of Leominster’s (Mass.) plan to earn the state’s designation as a green community, which would require the adoption of a more stringent energy code. The green community designation opens the gateway to state funding to spend on energy-efficiency efforts, attaining energy management services, and help for siting and construction of renewable energy generating facilities.
