Homeowners impacted by Hurricane Matthew face long waits for repairs due to a construction labor shortage that was acute before the storm. The hurricane caused large-scale damage in southeast coastal areas. Requests for new window installation were up 133% in Myrtle Beach, S.C., compared with the same day last year, according to HomeAdvisor. Requests for repair work on tile roofs were up 120% in Savannah, Ga. The storm may have caused about $10 billion in damage, according to a recent estimate by Goldman Sachs.
