Thermoelectric Paint Could Capture Heat Energy On Any Surface

Nov. 23, 2016

Researchers at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), and the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute have developed a thermoelectric paint that can generate electricity from waste heat. The paint could help power homes, vehicles, and even ships. Unlike many existing thermoelectric devices, paint can fully cover and envelop the surface of an object, maximizing the amount of heat that is harnessed.
