Applications Open For NAHB’s IBS Green Building Scholarship

The scholarship aims to advance the work of young green building professionals by paying for their travel expenses to the 2027 International Builders’ Show.

In an effort to help advance the careers of young professionals in the green building space, the National Association of Home Builders is accepting applications for the NAHB IBS Sustainability and Green Building Scholarship. The scholarship is open to young professionals and emerging green builders between the ages of 25 to 35.

The recipient of the scholarship will receive $1,300 to go toward their travel expenses for the 2027 International Builders’ Show, which takes place from Feb. 2-4. The scholarship recipient will also have full registration to the show, giving them access to networking events, education sessions, and opportunities to see the latest products in the industry.

They will also receive complimentary access to Home Innovation Research Labs’ NGBS Green PRO designation course, which has roughly a $450 value.

“The impact of the scholarship has extended well beyond the week I spent at IBS. The knowledge and perspective I gained influenced real changes in the way we designed, built, and supported our homes and homeowners,” says Grace Weger, the 2026 IBS Young Green Builder Scholarship recipient. “Just a few weeks ago, I began a new role with Habitat for Humanity International as a Building Science Manager, where I now have the opportunity to support affiliates across the country in building better, healthier, more efficient homes.”

For those interested, the scholarship is open online through Oct. 23.
