David Weekley Homes announced the winners of its 2012 “Partners of Choice” Awards this week, recognizing the company’s outstanding vendors. This year, 18 companies were awarded in total, split between the “A,A” and “A” levels.

Supplier performance is analyzed via a process of evaluations, one-on-one discussions, formalized feedback instruments, coaching sessions and action plans. David Weekley also looks at the vendors’ channel partners, evaluating the effectiveness of the supply chain via its National Trading Partner Survey. The quarterly review examines access, communication, timeliness, reliability, follow-through, and confidence levels among other areas.

The following companies received the “A,A” Partner of Choice Award: ABC Supply; Acme Bricks; Boise Engineered Wood Products; Dow Chemical; James Hardie; Office Depot; Rinnai; Seacoast Supply; Seybro Doors; Simpson Strong-Tie; Trane; and Zurn.

It was the first time that Acme Brick, Rinnai, Seybro Doors, and Zurn achieved “A,A” status. At the same time, James Hardie received the award for the eighth straight year; Dow has been an “A,A” winner every year since the awards’ inception.

Winners of the “A” awards were recognized in specific areas. They included: Boral Bricks (“A” in quality); Home Team Pest Defense (“A” in quality); Owens Corning (“A” in quality); Rheem (“A” in service); Skelton Business Equipment (“A” in service); and Square D (“A” in service).

Boral Bricks, Rheem, and Skelton Business Equipment were first-time award recipients.
