According to Forbes contributor Jamie Hopkins, “housing is a bad long-term investment" but you should still buy.
Hopkins cites multiple research studies done by institutions such as Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing and Washington University’s Brown School, which say homeowners generate a higher net worth faster than those who rent. However, as a pure investment, housing is not as good and secure of a choice as the stock market.
