In most parts of the U.S. women generally earn 70 cents for each dollar of a man’s salary. But the exact difference depends a lot on where you live, according to researchers at rental website Abodo. According to the study, in Durham, N.C., women earn 93 cents for every dollar made by their male counterparts. Los Angeles and Fresno, Calif., are close behind with 90 cents and 89 cents, respectively. The biggest pay gap is in Provo, Utah, where women earn a paltry 63 cents for every dollar earned by men. Local education levels play a big role, analysts say.
