The National Association of Realtors studied home buying and selling trends among members of the Baby Boomer generation.
According to the NAR’s 2015 Home Buyer and Seller Generational Trends Report, the Baby Boomer generation can be divided in two: Younger Boomers, people born from 1955-1964, and Older Boomers, those born from 1946-1954.
Younger Boomers made up 16 percent of all home purchases in 2014, while Older Boomers made up 15 percent. The report noted that Younger Boomers purchased more multigenerational homes last year than any other age group at 21 percent.
Moreover, 59 percent of all buyers over 49 years purchased single-family homes in senior-related housing communities.
