Renting not a good strategy for building wealth

A report from The Center for American Progress discusses the challenges of building savings while renting.

On average, renters have median cash savings 10 times less than that of homeowners, and the median net worth of renters is almost 35 times less than that of homeowners. To help renters build equity, the Center offers some suggestions for how renters can increase their savings and, hopefully, buy a home so they can build equity.
