According to Jessica Lautz, the NAR’s director of member and consumer research, most single homebuyers are divorced people, widows, or widowers, and single women make up the largest share of single buyers. But The Sacramento Bee also found that single homebuyers can come to the market from all walks of life, and their reasons for buying extend beyond just financial ones.
