New York ZIP codes land most places in 2014 most expensive list top 10

The ZIP code of Atherton, Calif., may be the most expensive in the U.S. (the median price of the 24 homes listed for sale last summer was $9.03 million), but the state of New York takes seven spots of the top 10 most expensive ZIP codes.

At number 2 is Sagaponack, N.Y., where the median price of homes is $6,433,076.92 with 327 day on the market on average. The rest of the six ZIP codes in the top 10 that belong in New York state are in New York City.
