Zombie-debts continue to haunt Americans who lost their homes in the bust

Reuters reports that many thousands of Americans who lost their homes in the housing bust are being chased by debt collectors.

Many of the debts being hunted are for mortgages of homes that have been foreclosed, sold, and out of the minds of many of these former owners. Deficiency judgments are being sought by freezing bank accounts, garnishing wages, and seizing assets.
