Research Says City Centers Are Seeing Increased Share of Young Adults Nationwide

A new study by the Demographics Research Group at the University of Virginia compares the share of young adults aged 22 to 34 that live near city centers in 1990 and 2012.

Amid hype of whether or not there really is a shifting preference away from the suburbs among young adults, the researchers find that “this trend holds true in nearly every city across the country.”
