Cable clutter is bound to be passé as the Swedish furniture giant Ikea releases lamps and bedside tables with built-in, wireless charging spots, CNN Money reports.
Ikea’s latest contribution to the smart home movement uses a wireless charging standard called Qi, found in some Windows Phones and Android phones. For iPhones, Ikea will launch phone cases that will work on almost every wireless charger.
The furniture itself would need to be plugged in, but it still means that there are fewer loose cables for homeowners to worry about.
