Zillow Looks at America’s Two Renter Household Types
Cities in the U.S. are experiencing a rental affordability crisis, Zillow Real Estate Research says. The many renter households can fall into either a high-burden or low-burden type.
High-burden households are those that have to pay a larger share of their income toward rent. The median household income among households with the lowest rent burden is typically four to five times the median household income among households with the highest rent burden.
