Mortgage Applications Surge in Spring

CNBC reports that the total volume of mortgage applications increased 4.6 percent despite volatility in interest rates.

Mortgage applications to purchase a home are 8 percent higher year-over-year, and applications to refinance are 44 percent higher than they were one year ago.

The data, provided by the Mortgage Bankers Association, marks housing’s continuing strong stride into spring.
