Dutch designer Marjan van Aubel is developing a stained glass window that has mosaic components made out of energy-generating solar cells.
According to Curbed, the dye-sensitized solar cells use different colors of light to generate energy like chlorophyll.
Designer van Aubel has been experimenting with solar energy furniture and home fixtures over the last few years. Another design of hers is the Current Table, which converts indoor light into electricity.
Her designs will make its debut in this week’s Salone del Mobile in Milan.
