A study from Trulia found that it’s cheaper to buy than rent in the D.C. area – for those who can afford the down payment, DC Urban Turf reports.
Buying is 32 percent cheaper than renting in the Capital, just slightly less than the national average of 33 percent, assuming that homebuyers use a traditional 30-year fixed rate mortgage with a 20 percent down payment.
