Renters Are More Confident on Prices Than Owners

A new consumer survey conducted by the New York Federal Reserve Bank found that renters are somewhat more optimistic than owners when it comes to price increases, RIS Media reports.

Renters and owners both expect prices to increase. On average, both groups think prices will increase by 4.4 percent over the next 12 months. Where they differed was in their expectations for price growth.

Renter respondents said they expected prices to grow by 5.2 percent, compared to 4.1 percent for owner respondents.
