Companies based in desirable cities plagued with traffic congestion have found a way to keep employees happy and help them save time: telecommuting options.
According to Fast Company, global recruitment and outplacement firm Workplace Trends and CareerArc found that 87 percent of human resources leaders say staff working periodically from home boosted employee satisfaction, and seven out of 10 hiring managers use flex-time programs as a recruiting and retention tool.
The metro areas with the longest commutes – and the opportunity for builders to attract buyers with dedicated home-office spaces – include San Francisco, New York, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles.
