Survey Finds Young Adults in Shared Households Ready to Move Out

Economists at UBS found that 54 percent of young adults in shared households – those living with another adult that does not own the home or is not the siginificant other of the homeowner – plan to move out soon.

Housing experts say shared households “have put a drag on household formation,” Business Insider reports, and the survey’s findings offer the industry some good news.

An additional 67 percent of respondents who were not expecting to move out within the next year said they were planning to do it eventually.
