Things are getting better for big American cities.
Of the cities with populations over 300,000, none reported that economic conditions worsened over the last year, according to the Wall Street Journal. Conditions even “greatly improved” for 23 percent of them.
Large cities are drawing young, college-educated workers in search of jobs and affluent older residences wanting a more walkable lifestyle.
On the other end, the economic outlook worsened slightly for five percent of towns with populations under 50,000. Smaller towns rely more on citizens that have manufacturing jobs.
