Rents Are Rising Faster for Mid-Tier Apartments
According to Realtor.com, apartments that cater to middle-class and working-class families are becoming scarcer, pushing rent prices up.
Meanwhile, higher-end apartments make up a majority of new units in the nation’s largest metropolitan areas. CoStar Group estimates the number at more than 80 percent of all new units, and the tenants of these spaces are seeing more modest rent increases compared to their mid-tier counterparts.
